#106 Marvelous Medallion Quilt
Harriet Hargrave
3 Day - Mon/Tue/Wed - $230

Harriet's former students have been asking for more. Now they can spend 3 days with the "Fairy Godmother of Quilting" and learn all her tips and techniques of machine piecing. Harriet's style is to reproduce antique quilts as closely as possible. Now that reproduction fabric is available, a gorgeous quilt with the illusion of age is much easier to achieve. However, this quilt is a knockout in any fabric combination. Former students have done everything from 1800's repro fabric to batik. This quilt was inspired by the Framed Medallion quilts of the early 1800's. Elements of the quilt include LeMoyne Star, 4-patches, Flying Geese and quarter-square triangles – all traditional blocks used in the earliest quilts. If your blocks do not finish at exactly the right measurement, this class is for you. Precision piecing is the name of the game, and Harriet makes it easy and fun and above all extremely rewarding - especially for beginning machine piecers. Medallion quilts were popular in 18th century Europe and in the US up until 1850. Let Harriet help you create your own timeless heirloom with a modern twist. Level: All

Joe the Quilter: A Musical Quilt Show

Joseph Hedley lived in England from 1750 to 1830. He was known as Joe the Quilter. Learning about him inspired me to become a professional quilter 200 years later. In this show I tell the story of his life, and illustrate the story with quilts and songs. The quilts are my latest, original quilts, made in the style of the original Joe the Quilter. Unique, fun and full of quilts, this show is unlike anything you have ever seen.
